How we setup your business for Cloud Backup

Setting up involves stopping your existing tape or portable hard disk backup and replacing it with a combination of on-site and off-site backup.  This may involve a site visit or in many cases it can be done via our remote access software.

Local (on-site) backup

During setup we either install a separate backup hard drive in your server or provide a network attached storage device for local backup purposes. We also install our backup software on your server and finally we give your server a health check, ensuring the fans are clean and quiet and the Uninterruptible Power Supply is functioning correctly. The backup software automatically makes a local backup of all your important data and system information every night.


Remote (off-site) backup

During setup, the backup software is also configured to make a second backup to our secure off-site vault. This backup also runs automatically every night.  Normally we will also take an initial backup onto a portable device so the first offsite backup does not have to involve a lot of data transfer.  Subsequent off-site backups will only require the backing up of data that has changed.

File Restore

Our backup software is very easy to use and we train you how to instantly restore accidentally deleted files using the local backup.
